Tombstone Tuesday-Agnes Throp
Agnes was a very special woman. After her husband died in England, Agnes at the age of 50, immigrated with her six youngest children ranging in age from 20 down to 9 years old, to Bridgeport, Connecticut. There, Agnes opened and ran a boarding house. In 1919 her oldest surviving son joined the family in Connecticut. I often wonder about Agnes' spirit. She left behind the graves of her husband and 3 of her children to start a new life here. She also left her oldest surviving son and all of her family, including her 8 brothers and sisters and their families behind in England. I'm not sure if I could be that strong...
